Where it comes from
Rurie started on a desk full of Tomoe River paper, half-empty ink bottles and too many rolls of washi tape. Every detail in the app is borrowed from that world, and we're happy to tell you where from.
Fountain pen
Done tasks get a stroke from a fountain pen, fineliner or pencil. Inspired by the Pilot Custom 74 and the Lamy Safari's steel nib.
Hanko & stamp cards
Good days earn a stamp. Inspired by goshuin temple seals and the rajio taisō cards Japanese kids carry to morning exercises.
Dot grid
A quiet dot grid under everything, or squares, lines or nothing at all. Inspired by the Rhodia dotPad and the grid of the Hobonichi Techo.
Ink
Tsuki-yo, Shin-kai and Kon-peki next to plain graphite. Inspired by the Pilot Iroshizuku bottles on our shelf.
Washi tape
Tape over what matters, with torn ends and a translucent stripe. Inspired by mt masking tape from Kamoi Kakoshi in Okayama.
Paper
Hanshi, Tomoe River, Midori and Kraft, each with its own tone and grain. Inspired by Tomoegawa, Midori MD and the Traveler's Notebook.
Weekday kanji
Every weekday has its own seal: moon, fire, water, wood, gold, earth, sun. Inspired by the Japanese names of the days.
Calligraphy paper
A calm, neutral off-white for every day. Inspired by hanshi, the thin paper used to practise shodō.
Index cards
Ideas live on cards with a red header line, taped down when they matter. Inspired by the Zettelkasten and Kokuyo index cards.
